Brenda Kay

Founder & Lead Researcher · FreeMoneyIQ, FreeInsuranceIQ, FreeLegalIQ

Brenda Kay has spent three decades learning how money actually works — not from a classroom, but from life. She's run small businesses, managed the operations of a medical practice, navigated landlord challenges, and spent 30 years as a student of real estate long before she started pursuing her NC Real Estate license.

Based in the Asheville/Hendersonville area of Western North Carolina, Brenda works in property management and real estate. Mortgages, insurance, and legal costs aren't abstract topics to her — they're questions she's had to answer for herself, often without a clear, unbiased tool to help. That frustration is what built the FreeIQ sites.

Background & Experience

Brenda holds a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration and Communications Arts and brings a researcher's instinct to everything she publishes — always digging for the real number, the honest answer, and the plain-language explanation that most financial sites bury behind a sales funnel.

Why the FreeIQ Sites Exist

The tools that help people make real financial decisions — mortgage calculators, insurance estimators, legal cost guides — are almost always buried behind email forms, lead-gen funnels, or paywalls designed to connect you with a salesperson rather than answer your question.

Brenda built FreeMoneyIQ, FreeInsuranceIQ, and FreeLegalIQ to give people the number first — so they can walk into any financial conversation informed, not surprised. Every calculator runs in your browser, returns an honest estimate in seconds, and asks for nothing in return.

She writes and reviews all editorial content across the three sites, drawing on her own experience navigating the same financial questions the tools are designed to answer.
